The School Office: Week 5

It’s been fairly quiet in the office this week, with exams going on around school and the senior leadership team out for two days in an executive meeting.  In fact, we’ve not even had any cake to enjoy!

I was asked to finish entering the admissions data for the September year 7 students and was surprised and none too happy to discover that all the data I’d entered in my first couple of weeks working at the school had mysteriously disappeared and had to be re-entered.  It’s an onerous task the first time round, and infuriatingly so the second time!

I also spent a morning trying to work out a nested if formula in Excel only to be advised by my colleague that it was actually a lot easier and quicker to use a vlookup table instead.  How have I never done this before? It might be my new favourite thing in Excel and I LOVE Excel. Yes, I’m a geek in disguise!

Had an interesting chat with my boss yesterday about my future at the school and it certainly sounds positive and exciting.  I can’t believe how lucky I am to have found such a perfect role just 1 mile from my home!

I think that’s about it, as I say, it was a quiet week!

So, this is what I wore:

  1. Gah technology! I’m glad you managed to use it to your advantage though, and find a more efficient way of doing the old job. Nice outfits.

  2. In addition to our weekly Monday Kid Corner, this week’s theme is MUD. Brush off those archives and link them up at thejennyevolution.com. See you there! Jennifer
