To Autumn

Our garden is showing lots of signs of autumn now.
There are spiders everywhere!
Berries of all colours are spreading across the bushes. I’m a philistine when it comes to berries, so if anyone can enlighten me, I would be eternally grateful!
There are some surprises though.
And of course, the bees continue to take over the entire garden!

The spider picture is fantastic although I am terrified completely of them. x
There are so many – we’ve had some big ones in the house too, and as soon as I start spotting them, I know autumn is definitely here!
those spider pictures are amazing!! loving the early signs of autumn…
I totally agree. Where do they hide all summer though…?!
Beautiful photos, and love those spider shots – amazing creatures
They’re fantastic. But a bit creepy when they scuttle past without warning!
Loving the spiders! There are plenty indoors here but outside seems to be taken over by daddy long legs – the field opposite me was a carpet of them the other evening, now I like spiders but seeing that many properly freaked me out!
So many berries! ah I love Autumn! All I need now are some orange and red crunchy fallen leaves and the Autumn checklist will be well and truly ticked.
The bees have all gone here – I’m a bit sad about that. How long do the mining ones hang about for ?
Thanks for joining in again by the way! x
Mining bees stay about 6 weeks I think (although I’ve not actually recorded their arrival and departure before) and they coincide with the ivy flowers blossoming. I’ve not seen many crunchy leaves yet, but otherwise, autumn is definitely here!
Totally freaked out by your image of a blanket of daddy long legs!!
I love the spiders, when they are outside. They are fascinating to watch, but I must admit to being slightly alarmed after walking through one of the webs I had been admiring. I knew just how big the spider was that lived there. I did a little (ok HUGE) jig and shake to make sure he wasn’t on me somewhere.
I did the exact same thing – so busy taking photos, I didn’t watch where I was going and got a mouthful of web. Ugh!! Hope you didn’t find him!
I’ve got a spider this week too! It must be time for them to come out – I don’t even know if they have a certain time?
I think the black berries are elderberries – completely edible but only if you cook them into something, otherwise they might make your stomach turn.
There are a lot of spiders around the web (geddit) at the moment. They must be a sign of autumn as they do just suddenly seem to be there.
Thanks for the pointer on the berries – might look into them more then!
Lovely photos to – the spider pictures are wonderful. And, I’m glad to see that the bees are still busy 🙂
They are truly busy bees – non-stop digging up our garden!
