Just a day

Every day with the girls is ordinary. Every day with the girls is extraordinary.

Aveeno have launched the second book in the Ellie and Eddie Dry-ventures trilogy and this time, they’re camping on their ‘Happy Skin Holidays‘ (you can download a copy for free by clicking on the link). It’s a great reminder that changing the routine doesn’t need to mean forgetting it altogether, and just takes a little imagination to stick to the important stuff. And it makes me desperate for the weather to be warm enough to get out camping too! I won’t spoil the ending, but Ellie meets someone who makes her feel normal, which was heartwarming to read.

Dad dance

Although my two only suffer from mild eczema, I have found the books to be invaluable in encouraging them to get into a moisturising routine that keeps their dry skin at bay – after all, neither of them want to be Eddie the gecko! We read this book after their bath and it makes it so much easier to get them to stand still and let me put their cream on. And so far, I’ve not had to resort to the dad dance Ellie’s dad uses in the book!

It is clever when a book is targetted at a condition. We got some to be read to the class when son1 was diagnosed with leukaemia
