Cherry Blossom Promises

While I’m a complete tanorexic and therefore sun worshipper, I do think that Spring is my favourite season.  I love the new life and rebirth that appears in front of our eyes at this time of year.  It holds so much promise of what is ahead to look forward to.  Perhaps it’s something to do with being an Aries, as the first sign of the zodiac some say we’re the youngest sign, the most inexperienced.  This might explain why I see the world with wonder, as though viewing it with a child’s eyes.

We have a corner plot house which has given us an unusually large garden; we are literally surrounded by the rebirth of Spring!  The most beautiful example is seen in the blossoming of our extremely out of control cherry tree.  For most of the year, it is a large, untidy collection of branches, but then, for just a few weeks of the year, it comes to life with the most incredible blossom display.   I can’t stand the tree (it gets very messy once the “cherries” arrive), yet can’t help but be moved by it come Spring.  It is the sign that we are through the cold months and have warmer, longer days to look forward to at last.

This weekend, I discovered that the bumble bees love it too and I spotted at least 8 buzzing around in the flowers!

I can see what you mean about it being out of control, but what a glorious sight it is at the moment. It’s lovely to see that the sun has arrived and it’s getting warmer after the winter we’ve had.

  4. Lovely. I love blossom and I think it’s great seeting the winter tree and then the spring pictures. Love the bee too.
