My parents came for dinner this evening and while it was cooking, I sat and watched them playing with the girls. There is something so magical about the relationship between children and their grandparents that seems to transcend the big gaps in visits and they just pick up where they left off as if it was only yesterday.
I love watching their delight as they show off to their Nanna and Granpa; dancing, spinning, creating made up games and telling stories. A story at bedtime from Granpa usurps anything I could do, and one word or a glance from Nanna and they are suddenly perfectly behaved.
I’m glad to say though, that when it comes to Bear, even Nanna and Granpa can’t beat cuddles from Mummy at bedtime!
