A lovely beach walk with my bestie and our dogs, followed by a drink in the sunshine on the terrace overlooking the glistening sea was a wonderful start to the day. We followed it up with an al fresco lunch at my mum and dad’s house and then a wander back into Broadstairs for ice creams.
The girls went to London for the day to see their uncle so this is a bit of a cheat as I wasn’t there but photos from the London Aquarium are far more exciting than my clothes shopping session!
A playdate with our friends was something of a washout with torrential rain all day, but we had an indoor picnic and introduced their son to the marble run which he LOVED!
A boring day of grocery and shoe shopping. With four very tired people, it was meltdown central, so we sat and watched Matilda for some quiet time before dinner and an early night.
Last minute holiday prep first thing, followed by a lovely afternoon with my sister and her friends who were staying at my parent’s house for a couple of nights. Bunny’s first dip in the sea this year and our visitors’ first time in Broadstairs. To say the blue sky and sunshine made it a winner would be an understatement. There was a lot of talk about moving this way and definitely about coming again!
After all the excitement, we finally arrived at Butlins and weren’t disappointed. We tried out Splashworld (which both girls loved and didn’t want to leave!) and then what will no doubt be the highlight of the weekend, went to see Scooby Doo Live. The girls were over the moon!
After a less than great night’s sleep, we have made the most of every minute of today with fairground rides, softplay, puppet shows, lots of food and a great show by Dick & Dom (although it rather went over Bunny’s head and she was not impressed by “those silly men”!!). A great time so far and still another day to go!
